On July 31, 2024, National Heritage Insurance Company (“NHIC”) was placed in liquidation by the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois (case number 2024 CH 05836). Ann Gillespie, Director of Insurance of the State of Illinois, was affirmed as NHIC’s statutory and court-affirmed Liquidator. The Agreed Order for Liquidation was entered upon the consent of NHIC’s Board of Directors. By Illinois law, the Director may appoint a Special Deputy Receiver to administer the receivership. Jacob Stuckey and the Office of the Special Deputy Receiver have been appointed to assist Director Gillespie in the day-to-day administration of the liquidation proceedings.
